Since 2002, lenders and credit insurance companies have been concerned with HOEPA (Home Owners Equity Protection Act) regulations and the impact on loans with single premium credit insurance. At the 2002 Consumer Credit Insurance Association's annual meeting, Carleton's Research Department was asked to give a presentation to explain HOEPA and provide insight into its potential ramifications.
