Portfolio and Individual Loan Recasting
In the event previously originated loans/transactions need to be re-cast due to partial prepayment, a change in interest rates or repayment terms, or other subsequent events, Carleton can take your electronic data and re-cast any transactions in question. We provide an amortization schedule of the transaction as re-cast and can also produce a new amortizing P&I payment if it is required.
Portfolio Audits – Due Diligence
If you’re considering buying a block of loans and want to evaluate the performance and quality of the calculations, Carleton can take the electronic data of the existing portfolio and perform a computational audit.
We can evaluate whether loan calculations conform to a specific state law for usury and whether the charges are in line with the intent of the original contract i.e. are you actually charging what was contracted for initially. We can also evaluate Truth-in-Lending Act disclosure items in particular validating the disclosed annual percentage rate to ensure it is within the one-eighth of one percent tolerance allowed by
Regulation Z.
Loan Processing Audits
Carleton can evaluate your actual collection process on a portfolio of loans through the use of electronic data. We can evaluate whether interest is being accrued and collected according to the rules of your particular system and that the proper allocation is made between interest and principal. We also can audit the calculation of such items as delinquency charges, NSF charges, and deferral charges and ensure they conform with both your specific contract language and any specific state law that applies
