Texas Rate Changes
Texas Rate Changes - Effective January 1, 2006

Due to the changes in the Texas rate structure, here are special instructions to configure your SmartPC application.

These are the changes needed to support the new rates for Class A, B, C, D and F.
First step you should do is to identify the case file for which Classes it is configured for.
To update this Texas Class case file, select Options/Loan Setup and Case Information.

To update the Texas life rates, select Single Premium Insurance Rates.
The rates should be set up as indicated in the snapshot below if your insurance carrier is using the new prima facie rates.

The file must be run from the web site. This will load the new A&H schedules and update your current application.

Once loaded, proceed to Accident & Health Rates screen of the loan setup. All current schedules can be deleted which will result in the screen below.

Once the schedules have been deleted, select the Add Rates button. A pop up A&H menu will appear. Scroll down to select the Texas schedules you wish to install. Multiple schedules can be selected by clicking on the Add Rates button again (I.E Texas 14 Retro, Texas 30 Retro, etc).

Once your schedule has been loaded, it will appear as below.

Now you will want to save this case file.

You are now ready to use SmartPC. Please validate the life and A&H rates with the new rates provided by your insurance carrier to ensure that no other changes need to be made.
